Our Twins’ Nursery

I’m so excited to finally share our baby boys’ nursery. Last summer, I spent a lot of time thinking out this space and how it would not only look, but function best for us and our twins. I’ve sourced a lot of stylish and affordable pieces, and they’re all linked below.

But first things first, the room “before”. It was previously functioning as our guest room, complete with a royal blue accent wall and the previous owners’ curtains still hanging. Although the carpet was in pretty good condition in this room, we decided to replace it with the flooring we used in the rest of our upstairs, an espresso engineered hardwood.

Picking a blue-grey paint color was actually really out of my comfort zone. My fear was that it would read too grey or too sky blue. After going back and forth on a couple of shades, I landed on Sherwin Williams Samovar Silver. It turned out exactly as I had envisioned- a perfect fit.

I had tons of fun playing around with mixing patterns, color and texture in here. Using a color palette with both taupes and greys was such a fun challenge.

There’s so much that goes into designing a nursery beyond the pretty décor pieces. I was thankful to have had some experience with one before my own, which definitely cut out some of the stress with sourcing. The BEST decision we made, though, was adding an additional glider to the space. For us and our twins, being able to spend time in the nursery together as a family has been invaluable. I’d recommend that to any new twin parent!

I genuinely love this space we’ve created. We have spent countless hours in here (as in, I’m sitting in here as I type this) and I can confidently say I wouldn’t change a thing. It’s neutral, warm, simple. Perfectly us. I cant wait to see how this space evolves and grows as our boys do.
